The Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) is a composite index that summarises relevant indicators on Europe’s digital performance and tracks the evolution of EU member states in digital competitiveness, across five main dimensions: Connectivity, Human Capital, Use of Internet, Integration of Digital Technology, Digital Public Services.
European Commission services selected more than 100 indicators, divided into thematic groups, which illustrate some key dimensions of the European information society (Telecom sector, Broadband, Mobile, Internet usage, Internet services, eGovernment, eCommerce, eBusiness, ICT Skills, Research and Development).
These indicators allow a comparison of progress across European countries as well as over time.
You can also browse the data with the help of a visualisation tools going at http://digital-agenda-data.eu/, where you are also able to download selected information.
This dataset complement the "digital agenda key indicators" dataset, presenting some additional indicators used to illustrate some important aspects of the results we are committed to achieve. They mainly refer to EU level initiatives and are not intended to benchmark Member States performance.
